OK Bill Here they are finally LOL. I had a few computer problems. Nice looking beam. The VHF contest is this weekend and should give it a good workout. Let us know how it does.

I know you look at this beam es wonder why the cross radials???? well just because it was plenty of room for them hihi. no realy I wanted too see if it made a difference in the pattern of rec es transmit.there isn't a lot of flatsided vhf anti's in this area that i know of, may be flat but vert polorized.well i said there might just be some body eles that thinks out side the box like I do es just might get too test it for real. You say well it is hooked too be vert,? or is it ?? the matching stubs are two 12 gage stranded wires 19-1/4 inch long.well that makes a 1/2 wave feed on a full wave loop.yes but if you think about it one is feeding the center es the other is feeding ground .a perfect 1/2 wave right, well yes es no 1/4 for vert es 1/4 for hort .the way the wires feed down the spredder arm it gives both at once.PLEASE don't try too do the math.IT will drive you nuts.My elmer of sorts said he wished I would get back in the box hihi I keep him confused hihi.If you think about a quad or full loop it covers vert es hort it covers 360 deg right so in some effect it has a hort transmit point right??? well I buildt this thing based on my way of thinking which is not always stright hihi.I can tell you guys this much you need a gud analyzer,a lawn chair ,one slow sunday es two gallons of ice cold tea to geter done.hihi.confussed yet ?? happy head sctraching.

Nice looking beam ,Bill. Now you will have to worry about ice .In a couple of months you will be watching the approaching clouds out of the corner of your eye and wondering if there is freezing rain in them.

I will just have to put enough rf in it too melt the ice off.hihi. me es my qrp station.thanks it took some doing too get it all figuered out.have got it up too just shy of 40 ft now, it is hitting my elmer wth a 20 over s-9 at 25 miles away. not too bad now.

Great signal. I might try to tinker with one of those if I get time this winter. ... I have been going to garage sales looking for cheap antenna rotators. You might think, with the digital tv thing in full swing , that a lot of people don't need rooftop directionals anymore and they would be selling them cheap...I have yet to even see one for sale.I will keep trying. I had a windstorm take down my longwire. That's not too bad , but a glass insulator that was older than both of us put together got smashed against the cliff rocks behind the house. I got it from a silent key who used it in the 30s.Real radio history gone forever. His rig was a ford ignition coil , a battery ,another coil and a key and it produced CW like controlled static. The best I can figure he transmitted around 160 meters and it was really broad banded.I still have his key and the remains of the spark coil .He wa a radio op. before there was an FCC .The guy built his own ladder line with house regular wiring and clothespins.Kinda inspiring.

well the time is near now to find how well it will handle the ice load.It takes the wind real well .It only weights in at 3lbs with the head lead off of it. I put 1-1/2 lbs of wheel weights on the nose to help balance it out.got her up at 40ft now es knock on wood it is holding gud so far.ya'll try one it wrks great don't cost much either.home brew junkie haha.

well building time is here agian the only problem with building it in the house is you gotta get it out of the shack down the hall and out side with out taking it apart haha.I want too build me one with the rings on it just to see what it will do.it uses pvc pipe for the spreaders and alum for the rings.
